Skål International Guayaquil elects Dr Jorge Macchiavello as its new president.
In an atmosphere of camaraderie and commitment to strengthening the tourism sector, Skål International Guayaquil held the inauguration dinner for its new president, Dr h.c. Jorge Macchiavello, for the period 2025–2027.
The event took place at the prestigious Porto restaurant in Puerto Santa Ana, bringing together directors, members and special guests from the local tourism industry.
During the ceremony, Macchiavello (who has extensive experience in management, consulting and destination promotion) highlighted the importance of coordinated work between the public and private sectors to promote Guayaquil as a regional benchmark in sustainable, associative and experiential tourism.
The event was also attended by the delegate of the Director of Tourism of the Municipality of Guayaquil, Ms Allyson Luna, reaffirming institutional support for the new board.
The municipal representative emphasised the council's interest in strengthening alliances with international organisations such as Skål International, under a vision of innovative and responsible tourism development.
Skål International Guayaquil, the local chapter of the renowned global network of tourism professionals, is embarking on this new phase with objectives focused on business opportunities for its members, integration with other chapters in the region, business training and promotion of Guayaquil as a destination.
"Skål International is friendship, business and joint growth. It is time to promote the city and the country from a united industry", said Macchiavello in his speech, receiving applause from the audience.
The evening ended with a toast to tourism, fellowship and the start of the new management period, renewing the organisation's commitment to promoting the sector.
